Writing Piece #1

Greetings Scholars,

Today you will be starting your first writing piece in the class. In order for me to get a good feeling for where you are as a writer you will compose a text in which you answer a question of your choosing. The questions are:

  1.   First experiences can be defining. Cite a first experience that you have had and explain its impact on you.
  2.   Select a creative work: a novel, a film, a poem, a musical piece, a painting or other work of art that has influenced   the way you view the world and the way you view yourself. Discuss the work and its effect on you.
  3.    Explain how your experiences as a teenager significantly differ from those of your friends. Include             comparisons.
  4.    What single adjective do you think would be most frequently used to describe you by those who know you best?    Briefly explain.

Additionally, along with your text you must find a visual, video or music piece that helps to illustrate your text. Make sure that your written text and visual texts represent you as an individual and that what you present upholds the high standards of the Upward Bound program.

Finally, you will need to create an introductory paragraph that answers what attracted you to the question you chose.

You will need to upload your document to insert in your post. Please navigate to the following link for instructions on how to complete this.
